The Human Resource Manager will report directly to the Director of Human Resources or General Manager (property specific). As a member of the property Human Resources support staff, he/she directs and works with Human Resources employees to carry out the daily activities of the Human Resource Office including oversight of recruitment, total compensation, training and development. Additionally, he/she focuses on delivering HR services that meet or exceed the needs of employees and enable business success; as well as ensures compliance with federal, state and local regulations and Aimbridge Hospitality operating procedures.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or a related industry; or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience.
- Previous supervisory responsibility required.
- College coursework in related field is helpful.
- Familiarity with employment laws is helpful.
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems required.
- Knowledge of employment regulations and laws, ensuring compliance.
Responsibilities
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Handle all aspects of hiring, including advertisements, job postings, recruiting, interviewing, processing, transfers, and orientation.
- Manage internal associate transactions such as promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
- Implement and monitor employee relations and incentive programs; resolve issues proactively.
- Coordinate, publish, and distribute employee newsletter.
- Conduct benefits orientations and 401K enrollment meetings.
- Manage the COBRA program (property specific).
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of employee evaluations.
- Maintain compliance with employment practices and procedures.
- Administer associate compensation and benefits accurately.
- Investigate and manage workers' compensation claims and safety issues.
- Administer, facilitate, monitor, and communicate Aimbridge Hospitality policies and procedures.
- Maintain HR documents, records, and files as per regulations and policies.
- Represent the HR department professionally, maintaining an open-door policy.
- Ensure staff compliance with HR policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit reports timely.
- Become a certified trainer in all current HR training modules.
- Maintain Employee of the Month/Year programs and suggestion box.
- Participate in and monitor orientation and training programs.
- Ensure managers use positive coaching, counseling, and discipline.
- Ensure completion of Employee Opinion Surveys.
- Streamline paperwork, develop internal communications, and improve record keeping.
- Manage resume and application files.
- Develop and monitor recruitment resources.
- Communicate information and ideas clearly.
- Evaluate and select among alternative actions quickly and accurately.
- Meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Handle workplace problems proactively, including anticipating and solving issues.
- Analyze complex information and data, adjusting as necessary.
- Understand financial information and perform basic arithmetic functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
