As a Human Resources Manager (HRM), you will be responsible for the execution of a HR plan to drive operational excellence, employee satisfaction, profitability achievement and business growth, and advancing the Company key HR and people initiatives. In this role, the HRM provides expertise and solutions to multiple departments and leaders, in the areas of employee relations, recruiting and staffing, training, employment practice, labor relations, performance management and compensation, employee satisfaction, and legal compliance. You will work collaboratively with Corporate HR and the region platform in delivering programs that foster HR excellence and continuous improvement.
**Position will be based in either Mid-West, Central or Eastern USA**
What you’ll do:
Employee/Labor Relations:
Provide guidance to district and branch management on employee relations issues such as HR compliance (FLSA, EEO, etc.), disciplinary counseling, terminations.
Conduct investigations and address employee workplace concerns.
Provide guidance to district/branch operations on union avoidance and contract interpretation as applicable and in conjunction with the Director of Labor Relations.
Promote the employee satisfaction survey and provide guidance to management on developing and implementing action plans to drive engagement index improvement.
Manages the recruitment efforts for assigned departments, with emphasis on achieving annual goals.
Work collaboratively with District and Branch Managers and Corporate Managers to assess staffing needs, labor market trends, and sourcing strategies.
Manage on-boarding process, including orientation and follow-up to assess employee acclimation to new position.
Leadership Development & Assessment:
In collaboration with region management, prepare annual assessment of high potential candidates. Work with management to create and monitor career development plans.
HR Metrics & Training:
Track and report on key HR metrics such as turnover and promotions. Partner with finance team in conducting analyses and making recommendations for continuous improvement.
Assess training needs across the region in collaboration with respective region platform disciplines. Work with Corporate Training Dept and Region Trainer to coordinate and deliver training programs for key learning areas.
Performance Management & Compensation:
Audit and coordinate with managers and employees on performance content.
Guide managers through employee improvement plans.
Administer the annual performance and compensation process for the region.
Provide guidance to region management in making recommendations for merit and bonus. Ensure region is compliant in adhering to budgets and guidelines set forth.
Program Implementation:
Participate in the development of HR programs and implement at the region and/or corporate level.
Provide project lead expertise as needed in collaboration with Corporate HR.

Requirements:
Undergraduate or graduate HR coursework preferred
PHR or SPHR certification
Minimum 5 years progressive HR Generalist experience in all facets of HR: employee relations, employment practices, labor relations, learning and assessment, compensation administration
Experience working in a multi-state, decentralized company
Demonstrated success in recruiting for a multi-state organization including sourcing, interviewing and selecting candidates. Experience utilizing an applicant tracking system preferred
Strong verbal/written communication skills, ability to present to all levels within the organization
Strong analytical skills; ability to consistently track, interpret and act upon metrics results
Technical HR knowledge - EEO/AA, FLSA, OSHA, federal/local laws
Strong relationship building, interpersonal and internal consulting skills
Ability to both collaborate and lead on projects
50% or more travel required, at times with little advance notice
Must be based in either Mid West, Central or Eastern USA
