Human Resources Manager

Location: Metro Detroit Area

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

Classification: Full-time

Position Overview

An established and growing service-based organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead HR operations and support ongoing business growth. This individual will drive workforce planning, employee engagement, compliance, and HR process optimization in a culture that values safety, continuous improvement, and team collaboration. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who excels at balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Human Resources team, aligning department goals with company values and growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to create and execute workforce plans that support strategic business initiatives.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and retention efforts.
  • Design and implement HR structures, policies, and service delivery models that scale with the business.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and internal mobility programs.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, and corrective action processes.
  • Administer payroll, benefits, and compensation programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Analyze HR metrics and KPIs to support business decisions and improve processes.
  • Manage HR vendor relationships and negotiate contracts as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion with all sensitive employee information.
  • Represent the company positively at all times and foster a professional, supportive workplace culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of HR leadership experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop HR teams.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, best practices, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS/ATS platforms; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen; valid driver's license required.
  • Willingness to sign a confidentiality and non-solicitation agreement.
