Job summary

Controlled Holdings in Indiana is seeking an HR Manager to lead our People Ops team and shape a people-first culture. You will oversee payroll, benefits, recruiting, compliance, and employee engagement events while modeling the company values.

This role requires a proven leader with 5+ years in People Operations, strong strategic thinking, and exceptional communication. You’ll partner with senior leadership to align people initiatives with business goals and foster a workplace where employees

Qualifications

• 5+ years in People Operations with proven team leadership.
• Experience with Certified Payroll is a plus.
• UKG Ready or comparable HRIS knowledge strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business, or related field.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM SCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the People Operations team and drive employee engagement initiatives.
• Oversee payroll, benefits, recruiting, compliance, and company-engagement events.
• Manage payroll and benefits teams to ensure accurate processing and regulatory compliance.
• Lead recruiting to attract, hire, and retain top talent aligning with company values.

• Experience overseeing payroll, benefits, recruitment, and events management, ensuring alignment with company culture and employee satisfaction.
• Demonstrated success in creating and nurturing a positive company culture and driving employee morale.

• Experience in implementing and driving People Operations strategies, with an emphasis on employee experience and engagement.
• Ability to think strategically while executing day-to-day operations with a hands-on approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Enthusiastic team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about putting People first.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in People Operations, with a proven track record of leading a team and driving employee engagement initiatives.
• Experience with Certified Payroll is a plus.
