Job summary

Webco Hawaii, a Honolulu and Kapolei based distribution company, seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead day-to-day HR operations and serve as a trusted resource to employees and managers.

The role oversees recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, HRIS, compliance, training, and records—driving accuracy and regulatory adherence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of progressive HR experience with responsibility for multiple core HR functions.
  • Experience recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits, compliance, and HR administration.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR principles.
  • Experience administering and improving an enterprise HRIS.
  • Ability to coach managers and handle confidential matters with discretion.
  • SHRM certification or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of day-to-day HR function and lead the team.
  • Supervise and develop HR support staff, setting priorities and timelines.
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for warehouse, driver, field, sales, corporate, and leadership roles.
  • Partner with managers on workforce planning, job descriptions, and hiring needs.
  • Oversee onboarding, interviews, offers, and new-hire integration.
  • Coach managers on performance management, documentation, leaves, and accommodations.
  • Administer compensation, benefits, and leave programs; manage HR records.

Webco Hawaii is seeking an experienced, hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead our day-to-day HR function and serve as a trusted resource to employees and managers across our warehouse, sales, field, and corporate operations.

Reporting to the Vice President & Director of Administration, this position supervises HR support staff and is responsible for recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, HR systems, compliance, training, employee records, and operational HR support.

This is an opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being actively involved in the business. The successful candidate will balance employee support, manager coaching, regulatory compliance, data accuracy, technology, and operational execution in a fast-paced distribution environment.

What You'll Do
HR Leadership and Operations
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the HR function.
  • Supervise, coach, develop, and assign work to HR support staff.
  • Establish priorities and ensure timely completion of HR activities and projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve HR policies, procedures, forms, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide responsive, professional support to employees and managers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, compliance, and the employee experience.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for warehouse, driver, field, sales, corporate, and leadership positions.
  • Partner with managers on workforce planning, job descriptions, recruiting strategies, and hiring needs.
  • Develop sourcing strategies and maintain pipelines of qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate interviews, candidate selection, pre-employment requirements, offers, onboarding, orientation, and new-hire integration.
  • Build relationships with schools, workforce agencies, community organizations, staffing partners, and professional networks.
  • Track recruiting activity and recommend improvements to hiring speed, quality, and retention.
Employee Relations and Performance Management
  • Serve as the primary HR resource for employee concerns and workplace issues.
  • Coach managers on performance management, documentation, corrective action, policy interpretation, leaves, and accommodations.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and recommend fair, consistent, and well-documented resolutions.
  • Coordinate disciplinary actions and terminations in consultation with leadership, as appropriate.
  • Lead introductory, periodic, and annual performance-review processes.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, development, and succession planning.
Compensation, Benefits, and Leave Administration
  • Support compensation programs, salary reviews, pay adjustments, and job classifications.
  • Coordinate benefits eligibility, enrollment, open enrollment, employee education, and vendor relationships.
  • Serve as a liaison among employees, benefits providers, brokers, and HR system vendors.
  • Administer leaves of absence, disability, workers' compensation, accommodations, and return-to-work processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and timely communication regarding employee status and benefit changes.
HRIS and Analytics
  • Serve as the primary administrator for ADP Workforce Now and related HR systems.
  • Lead HRIS configuration, implementation, maintenance, testing, upgrades, and optimization.
  • Maintain data accuracy, security, confidentiality, and compliance through audits and quality-control processes.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and workforce metrics to support payroll, benefits, compliance, recruiting, and management decisions.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate solutions with ADP, other vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Train HR staff, managers, and employees on HR systems, tools, and processes.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate and improve HR workflows and business processes.
Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management
  • Monitor federal, state, local, and Hawaii-specific employment-law compliance.
  • Maintain required employee records, notices, reports, personnel files, medical files, and compliance documentation.
  • Support employment audits, regulatory reporting, investigations, and risk-mitigation initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations on workplace safety, training, incident investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims, injury tracking, and return-to-work activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and respect.
Training and Organizational Development
  • Develop and facilitate new-hire, HR, compliance, safety, manager, and leadership training.
  • Maintain training records, certification requirements, and recurring training schedules.
  • Support managers with coaching, employee development, and succession planning.
  • Promote continuous learning and professional development.
What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • At least five years of progressive HR experience with responsibility for multiple core HR functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits, compliance, and HR administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws, HR principles, and best practices.
  • Experience administering and improving an enterprise HRIS.
  • Strong employee-relations, investigation, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential matters with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Ability to independently prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.

Preferred qualifications:

  • ADP Workforce Now administration and optimization experience.
  • Prior HR staff supervisory or team-lead experience.
  • Experience in warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, retail, or another operational environment.
  • Experience with workplace safety, workers' compensation, payroll processes, HR reporting, and workflow improvement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent education and progressive experience may be considered.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
