Job summary

Executive Recruiting Consultants is seeking an HR Manager in the Sioux Falls, SD area to lead HR operations for a manufacturing environment. You will partner with leadership to align people strategies with organizational goals and drive workforce initiatives.

You will oversee recruiting, onboarding, employee development, performance, compensation, and compliance while promoting a positive workplace culture and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in human resources leadership or management.
• Experience supporting manufacturing or operations environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day HR activities including employee relations, attendance, workplace policies, and safety initiatives.
• Partner with site leadership to set workforce priorities and align people strategies with business goals.
• Develop and coordinate recruiting for hourly and professional positions, including onboarding and orientation.
• Build employee development programs to support safety, quality, productivity, and customer service.
• Manage performance management processes and support succession planning and employee growth.
• Administer compensation and benefits programs and ensure policy consistency.
• Maintain HR records, compliance with employment laws, and audit-ready documentation.
• Coordinate safety, workers' compensation, and risk management with operations.
• Foster constructive employee relations through effective communication and involvement.
• Maintain HR procedures and quality-system documentation to support audits.

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

The Human Resources Manager will oversee a broad range of HR functions within a manufacturing or operational environment. This role partners with leadership and employees to support a positive workplace, maintain consistent policies and practices, and align people strategies with organizational objectives.

• Lead day-to-day human resources activities, including employee relations, attendance, workplace policies, disciplinary matters, safety initiatives, and employee engagement.
• Partner with site and organizational leadership to establish workforce priorities, operational objectives, and plans that support business performance.
• Develop and coordinate recruiting efforts for both hourly and professional positions, including candidate selection, hiring processes, onboarding, and new employee orientation.
• Build employee development and training programs that support organizational needs in areas such as safety, quality, productivity, performance, and customer service.
• Manage performance management processes and support organizational development initiatives, succession planning, and employee growth.
• Administer employee compensation and benefit programs while ensuring policies and practices are applied consistently across the organization.
• Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, and internal procedures while keeping HR records, personnel documentation, attendance information, and related files accurate and current.
• Coordinate workplace safety, workers' compensation, risk management, and related loss-prevention activities in partnership with operational leadership.
• Support a constructive employee environment through effective communication, employee involvement, and proactive strategies for maintaining positive workplace relations.
• Maintain and update HR-related procedures, documentation, and quality-system requirements as needed, including support for applicable audit or certification standards.
