Job summary

CTDI is seeking an HR Manager to lead human resources initiatives at the Chester County branch. The role focuses on mitigating risk, coaching management, and driving proactive employee relations to raise leadership standards and improve the workplace.

The HR Manager will partner with Recruitment and Branch leadership to deliver a positive employee experience, manage workforce metrics, and implement policies in collaboration with regional leadership. Local travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years experience in Human Resources.
  • 3+ years handling employee relations matters with confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal employment laws.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; effective communication at all levels.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making with a strategic approach.

Responsibilities

  • Support site leadership on business initiatives and challenges.
  • Address employee relations issues—attendance, performance, conduct, documentation.
  • Serve as first point of contact for HR concerns (payroll, health plan options, vacation policy).
  • Partner with Recruitment Team to ensure a smooth new hire experience.
  • Collaborate on evaluation and selection of managers and supervisors.
  • Assist in talent assessment and development initiatives.
  • Compile people metrics and work with Regional GM to develop solutions.
  • Recommend branch training needs to Regional GM.
  • Implement policies and procedures with regional HR GM.
  • Address sensitive topics and conduct investigations.
  • Process payroll change notices (PCNs) and updates in UltiPro.

HR Manager

The Human Resources Manager will address Human Resources concerns within their respective branch or branches, focusing on the human capital element of the business and mitigating risk to the branch. The Manager will support, coach, and develop management teams, enhance operational efficiency, and shift the HR mindset from reactive employee relations to a proactive, collaborative, solution‑based team. The goal is to create better leaders, improve work environments, and position CTDI as an employer of choice.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Member of branch leadership supporting site business initiatives, issues, and challenges.
  • Address employee relations issues—attendance, performance, conduct—ensuring documentation is consistent, thorough, and accurate.
  • Serve as first point of contact for employee HR concerns and questions (payroll, health plan options, vacation policy, etc.).
  • Partner with Workforce Operations Recruitment Team and Branch Ambassador to ensure a smooth new employee experience.
  • Collaborate with branch leadership on evaluation and selection of managers and supervisors.
  • Contribute to manager and supervisor talent assessment and development initiatives.
  • Compile people metrics (turnover, safety, etc.) and work with the Regional General Manager to develop solutions.
  • Recommend branch training needs (leadership, safety, employee relations, sexual harassment, etc.) to the Regional General Manager.
  • Implement new policies, procedures, and protocols in partnership with the regional Human Resources General Manager.
  • Address sensitive topics and conduct investigations.
  • Process payroll change notices (PCNs) and updates in UltiPro as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Familiarity with various HR specialties (e.g., Total Rewards, Talent Management).
  • 3+ years handling employee relations matters, including complex investigations, with confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal employment laws.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; skillful communication, motivation, and influence at all levels.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills with a strategic approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in project management and prioritizing deadlines.
  • Ability to assess talent, create, and execute development plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Experience managing temporary staff.
  • Previous experience in a high‑volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (e.g., testing and repair), or forward logistics operation.
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Warehouse environment.
  • May require local travel and occasional overnight stays.
