Job summary

Hendrickson in Canton, Ohio seeks a Human Resources Intern to gain hands-on experience in training development, onboarding, recruiting support, and policy administration. You will help create training modules and assist with HR metrics using ADP Lyric.

You will lead the student talent program, mentor about 15 students each semester, and collaborate with HR teams on engagement activities. Working toward a Bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 GPA is expected; Hendrickson is an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Communications, or related field.
• Previous HR experience or training delivery is a plus.
• Knowledge of basic HR principles appreciated.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support HR processes including performance appraisals and onboarding.
• Create and run company training modules for employees.
• Recruit for openings following established processes and collaborate with hiring managers.
• Maintain a strong customer service attitude and support employee relations.
• Lead the student talent program: curriculum, interviewing, training, and mentoring ~15 students/semester.
• Intro to Hendrickson’s HRIS: ADP Lyric and related systems.
• Participate in engagement committees such as Activities, Wellness, and Safety.

Position Purpose

Are you looking to gain hands‑on experience in a Human Resource business environment, centering on developing and facilitating training, assisting with recruiting efforts and employer relations, leading a student talent program, and collaborating on policy administration? If so, the Human Resource Intern position could be the right fit for you.

Essential Functions

• Provide support on various HR processes, including performance appraisals, new employee orientation and onboarding, salary administration, and HR metrics.
• Create and facilitate company mandated and other training modules to employees.
• Recruit for assigned openings, following all aspects of the established recruiting process, which includes working closely with recruiting sources, hiring managers, candidates, and interviewers.
• Maintains a strong customer service attitude, enhancing employee relations and providing excellent service to internal and external personnel.
• Leader of student talent program, responsible for developing program curriculum, organizing and managing the interviewing process, creating and administering training, and mentoring approximately 15 students each semester.
• Introduction to Hendrickson’s HRIS system: ADP Lyric.
• Act as a member of various employee engagement committee’s including: Activities, Wellness, and Safety.

Education And Training

• Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related degree.

Minimum Qualifications

• Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related degree.
• Previous work experience in HR, delivering training, or a business setting a plus.
• Knowledge of basic principles and practices of Human Resources a plus.
• Effective oral, written, and PC skills required.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills required.
• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0 required.
