Mayville Engineering Co Inc is hiring a Human Resources Generalist Senior to provide day-to-day HR support across functional areas for managers and employees. This role offers variety and ownership, with responsibility spanning employee relations, recruiting, performance management coaching, compensation and benefits issue resolution, and continuous improvement of HR processes, all while maintaining regulatory compliance.
This is an onsite position in Bedford, PA. You'll serve as a primary HR resource, proactively addressing employee concerns and contributing to prevention-focused outcomes through analysis, recommendations, and communication.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary resource for managers and employees across one or more functional areas, including developing reports and analyses as needed and recommending actions to HR and stakeholders.
- Provide proactive resolution of employee concerns and support future problem prevention.
- Develop and deliver written communications and presentations to communicate HR concepts, and conduct training.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies, including full-cycle recruiting: job postings, candidate sourcing, resume screening, interviewing, and extending offers for hourly, salaried exempt, and non-exempt roles at designated locations.
- Coach employees and managers on goals and objectives, support performance management processes, and may lead calibrations.
- Partner with managers and the Compensation team to help ensure total compensation remains competitive and to identify, facilitate, and resolve compensation and benefits issues quickly.
- Develop, document, and recommend continuous improvement opportunities for HR processes, procedures, or programs to deliver innovative solutions to business needs.
- Support centralized processes such as FMLA/LOA and Workers' Compensation, providing feedback when issues arise along with solution approaches.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations relevant to HR responsibilities.
- Mentor other HR Generalists by answering questions, coaching, and guiding day-to-day activities.
- Lead HR projects of varying size and scope, potentially across locations.
Requirements
- Some experience developing principles and practices of HR functions and/or a specific HR function.
- Very strong organization and time management with project management skills to prioritize and manage multiple complex projects, including the ability to react quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with diverse groups of employees.
- Demonstrated skills in employee relations, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Some experience leading HR projects.
- Exhibits sound judgment and discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
- Proven ability to work independently and apply fact-based decision making.
- Strong computer skills.
Experience & Education
- Minimum experience: 5 years in a related professional, progressive HR role (manufacturing preferred).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, business, or equivalent education and experience.
Certifications
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
