Base pay range
$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources Team. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, supporting strategic initiatives, and acting as a trusted resource for employees and departments by implementing, administering, and maintaining various HR programs and providing support at different levels within the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and a passion for creating a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on company policies, procedures, and employment law compliance.
- Administer and manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and internal transitions.
- Maintain and update HRIS records, ensuring data accuracy and report consistency.
- Maintain the employee handbook, organization charts, new hire documents, personnel folders, etc.
- Support the annual open enrollment process, including employee communications, benefit system updates, and reporting.
- Administer benefit plans including enrollments, changes, terminations, and employee inquiries.
- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
- Coordinate and manage 401(k) plan administration including employee enrollments, contribution changes, loan processing, and compliance with IRS regulations.
- Administer semi-monthly payroll in collaboration with Finance, ensuring accuracy of employee status changes, incentive payments, deductions, and compliance with regulations; audit timekeeping records, resolve discrepancies, and support year-end reporting processes.
- Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Analyze HR metrics and recommend improvements to HR strategies and practices.
- Support HR processes proactively and manage HR projects.
- Handle unemployment claims and requests.
- Plan and coordinate virtual employee engagement events and recognition programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience supporting HR functions within a government contracting environment, with understanding of federal compliance requirements (e.g., DCAA, EEO, OFCCP).
- Strong computer skills, experience with HR, payroll, and accounting software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Unanet).
- Deep knowledge of employment law, HR policies, and best practices.
- Experience managing employee benefits and open enrollment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Preferred: Specialized training in employment law, compensation, employee relations, and organizational planning.
