Job description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources Team. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, supporting strategic initiatives, and acting as a trusted resource for employees and departments by implementing, administering, and maintaining a variety of HR programs and providing support at various levels within the organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law and a passion for creating a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on company policies, procedures and employment law compliance.
  • Administer and manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding and internal transitions.
  • Maintain and update HRIS records, ensuring data accuracy and report consistency.
  • Maintain the employee handbook, organization charts, new hire documents, personnel folders, etc.
  • Support annual open enrollment process, including employee communications, benefit system updates and reporting.
  • Administer benefit plans including enrollments, changes, terminations and employee inquiries.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit invoices to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
  • Coordinate and manage 401(k) plan administration including employee enrollments, contribution changes, loan processing and compliance with IRS regulations.
  • Administer semi-monthly payroll in collaboration with Finance, ensuring accuracy of employee status changes, incentive payments, deductions and compliance with federal, state and local regulations; audit timekeeping records, resolve discrepancies and support year-end reporting processes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR Policies and procedures.
  • Analyze HR metrics and recommend improvements to HR strategies and practices.
  • Proactively support the delivery of HR processes and manage HR projects.
  • Manage and respond to unemployment claims and requests.
  • Plan and coordinate virtual employee engagement events and company recognition program.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • 5-7 years minimum of related work experience.
  • Previous experience supporting HR functions within a government contracting environment, with a strong understanding of compliance requirements related to federal regulations (e.g., DCAA, EEO, OFCCP, etc.).
  • Strong computer knowledge and experience in using software programs related to HR, payroll and accounting (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Unanet, etc.) with the ability to manage employee data, generate reports and support system updates.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, HR policies and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee benefits and open enrollment.
  • Knowledge of business management, payroll and human resources.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis) and PowerPoint (e.g., creating professional presentations for leadership and training purposes).
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, employee relations, organizational planning, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.
