Job summary

Hanania Automotive Group is seeking an HR Generalist with payroll expertise to join our Jacksonville HR team. This role balances employee relations, payroll accuracy, benefits, and HR operations in a busy automotive dealership environment.

Responsibilities include payroll processing, HRIS maintenance, recruiting support, and policy implementation, with opportunities for career growth within Hanania's expanding organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR Generalist or comparable HR experience.
• Payroll processing experience required.
• Automotive dealership experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with HRIS and Paycom is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of payroll processes, timekeeping, deductions and compliance.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Serve as a trusted HR partner to employees, managers, and dealership leadership.
• Manage and support payroll processing, including timekeeping, payroll audits, deductions, corrections, and payroll-related employee questions.
• Partner with managers on employee relations, performance management, attendance, coaching, and workplace concerns.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
• Assist with benefits administration, employee changes, leaves, and other HR programs.
• Ensure employment records and HRIS information remain accurate and up to date.
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Assist with workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, and other employment-related matters.
• Help administer company policies and ensure consistent application across locations.
• Support HR reporting, audits, and department projects.
• Assist with employee training, engagement initiatives, and HR communications.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and create a better employee experience.
• Partner with leadership to help develop a strong, accountable, and people-focused culture.

Qualifications: What Sets You Apart

• 3+ years of HR Generalist or comparable HR experience.
• Payroll processing experience is required.
• Automotive dealership experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; Paycom experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, timekeeping, deductions, and payroll compliance.
• Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Experience with employee relations and performance management.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
• Comfortable working with employees and leaders at all levels of an organization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and hair follicle drug screening.
