Boscov's Department Store, LLC is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our busy HR office within a leading retail chain. The role focuses on HR operations, recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, discretion, and the ability to work independently. Retail HR experience and a preferred bachelor's degree are advantageous. Full-time, on-site position in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Retail HR experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage the functions of the Human Resources Office.
• Recruit, interview and select applicants to fill vacant positions.
• Onboard new hires by completing all necessary paperwork.
• Maintain coworker records per Company and government guidelines.
• Plan and conduct new coworker orientation and training.
• Handle benefits, compensation and performance review processes.
• Oversee timekeeping and payroll procedures.
• Address employee relations concerns with guidance from Corporate.
• Assume Senior Staff responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage the functions of the Human Resources Office
• Carry out policies related to phases of the Company and Human Resources
• Recruit, interview and select applicants to fill vacant positions
• Onboard new hires by completing all necessary paperwork and processes
• Maintain coworkers’ records in accordance with Company and government guidelines for reporting purposes
• Plan and conduct new coworker orientation and other types of training classes to foster positive attitudes and improve associate retention
• Responsible for promoting, initiating, and maintaining all facets of benefits, compensation, and performance appraisal review program
• Responsible for timekeeping and payroll procedures
• Handle all employee relations concerns with guidance from Corporate office
• Assume Senior Staff responsibilities

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree, preferred
• Prior retail sales management experience
• 2 to 4 years Human Resources Generalist experience preferred.
• Creative problem solving and confidentiality skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to learn HR computer systems and other store systems
• Available to work varied days and hours as work schedule requires, including evenings and weekends
