Job summary

Boscov’s Department Store, LLC is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support the HR office in a busy retail environment in Albany, NY. You will work independently to recruit, onboard, and manage employee records while upholding company policies and government requirements.

Responsibilities include benefits and payroll coordination, training delivery, and handling employee relations with guidance from the Corporate office. Strong communication and HR systems skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree, preferred
• Prior retail sales management experience
• 2 to 4 years Human Resources Generalist experience preferred
• Creative problem solving and confidentiality skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to learn HR computer systems and other store systems
• Available to work varied days and hours as work schedule requires, including evenings and weekends

• Onboard new hires by completing all necessary paperwork and processes
• Maintain coworkers’ records in accordance with Company and government guidelines for reporting purposes
• Plan and conduct new coworker orientation and other training classes to foster positive attitudes and improve associate retention
• Responsible for promoting, initiating, and maintaining all facets of benefits, compensation, and performance appraisal review program
• Responsible for timekeeping and payroll procedures
• Handle all employee relations concerns with guidance from Corporate office
• Assume Senior Staff responsibilities
