Boscov's, Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator to create a safe workplace through inspections, hazard analysis, and training. You will support HR with recruiting, onboarding, and day-to-day associate needs while engaging with Spanish-speaking staff.

The role emphasizes OSHA/EPA compliance, incident investigation and recordkeeping, plus collaboration with various teams to promote ongoing safety and driver safety awareness.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in a safety-related role with HR support responsibilities.
• Supervisory or leadership experience.
• Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA and local, state, federal safety regulations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment and work areas for OSHA compliance.
• Identify hazards, perform job hazard analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver safety orientations, training sessions and toolbox talks.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Maintain records of inspections, training and incident reports.
• Assist with recruiting and support new hire orientation and training.
• Provide HR support to Spanish-speaking associates.

Safety Coordinator

We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to join our team.

In this role, you will drive a safe work environment through regular inspections, hazard identification, training, and incident investigation, while also supporting the Human Resources team with recruiting, onboarding, and day-to-day associate needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of machinery, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies


• Identify potential hazards, perform job hazard analyses, and implement corrective actions or temporary precautions


• Deliver new hire safety orientations, safety training sessions, and toolbox talks


• Partner with the Fleet team to emphasize accident prevention and ongoing driver safety training


• Investigate accidents, near-misses, and injuries to determine root causes and implement preventive measures


• Maintain accurate records of inspections, safety training, and accident reports


• Develop and implement emergency response procedures and drills


• Assist with recruiting efforts and support new hire orientation and training


• Provide general HR support to Spanish-speaking associates

Job Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience in a safety-related role with HR support responsibilities


• Prior supervisory or leadership experience


• Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other local, state, and federal safety regulations


• Bilingual in Spanish


• Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, follow-up, and analytical skills


• Proficient in Microsoft Office
