Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary intake point for IU Research HR requeststhrough the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Triages, responds to, and reassigns HR cases to the appropriateHR team member.
- Monitors case workflows and ensure timely routing andresolution.
- Provides 1st level HR guidance and escalates complex issues asneeded.
- Processes Human Resources Management System (HRMS)/eDocssupporting the employee lifecycle.
- Supports HR team members with transactional HR activities andadministrative processing.
- Assists with position creation, position maintenance, job dataupdates, transfers, reorganizations, hires, and related personneltransactions.
- Ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance of submitted HRtransactions and documentation.
- Maintains HR records, documentation, templates, and proceduralresources.
- Coordinates HR communications, resource distribution, andemployee-facing information.
- Supports employee recognition, engagement, and otherdepartmental HR initiatives.
- Builds collaborative relationships and provides responsivecustomer service to IU Research employees, HR colleagues, andUniversity HR Centers of Excellence.
- Maintains working knowledge of IU policies, procedures, andemployment regulations and apply guidance consistent withestablished practices.
- Coordinates administrative aspects of HR recruitment and hiringactivities.
- Assists with posting requests, position management, workflowtracking, and onboarding processes.
- Maintains recruitment-related records, communications, andsupporting documentation.
General Responsibilities
- Coordinates, processes, verifies, and maintains academic and/orstaff HR related work, which may include but not limited to:recruitment, training, benefits, employee relations, tenure,performance evaluations, classifications, I-9s and employee leavesof absences.
- Researches and analyzes academic and/or staff HR related topicsto help assist in resolving issues and/or creating solutions.
- Creates, compiles, prepares, and analyzes reports and documentsfor academic and/or staff HR related activities.
- Performs and may coordinate data entry for processingtransactions and maintaining and keeping information current forcandidates, employees and/or retirees on a variety of academicand/or staff HR issues.
- Provides administrative and related support to other academicand/or staff HR staff.
- Supports and maintains academic and/or staff HR programs andevents; maintains up-to-date records of actions, decisions, andtime frames.
- Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employeerecords and documents.
Qualifications
Combinations of related education and experience may beconsidered. Education beyond the minimum required may besubstituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimumrequired may be substituted for education.
Education
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
Work Experience
Required
- 3 years of HR related experience plus advanced experience withMicrosoft Office Suite products.
Preferred
- Experience with Salesforce CRM.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and tooperate a computer and other standard office productivityequipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periodsof time moving around an office environment and the campus. Theperson in this role must be able to perform the essential functionswith or without an accommodation.
Work Location
Bloomington, Indiana
This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule (mix between remoteand in-person work), after an initial evaluation period, and issubject to change in the future based on university policy andbusiness needs.
Advertised Salary
$22.35 - $24.75, based upon experience.
