Job Details: Job Location: COLUMBIA CITY, IN 46725, Salary Range: $19.00 Hourly, Position Summary The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources Manager in the day-to-day operation of Human Resources and workplace safety. This is a trainable, entry-level position focused on recruiting, onboarding, employee records, data entry, filing, scanning, safety documentation, and general administrative support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with recruiting activities, including posting open positions, reviewing applicants, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Prepare interview materials, new-hire packets, orientation materials, and other employment documents.
- Assist with new-hire onboarding and orientation, including tracking completion of required forms, policies, and training.
- Enter and update employee information in Paycom and other company systems accurately and timely.
- Maintain organized personnel files and ensure documents are properly filed, scanned, uploaded, and retained.
- Assist with employment verifications, employee lists, reports, and routine HR correspondence as assigned.
- Track required employee documents and follow up on missing or incomplete information.
- Provide courteous administrative assistance to employees and direct questions requiring interpretation or decision-making to the Human Resources Manager.
- Assist with recruiting events, employee events, company communications, and other HR projects.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee, medical, and company information at all times.
- Perform other HR administrative duties as assigned.
Safety Support Duties
- Maintain safety training records, inspection forms, near-miss reports, corrective-action records, and other safety documentation.
- Scan, upload, copy, file, and organize safety forms and supporting documents.
- Assist with preparing safety signs, training materials, employee communications, and meeting documents.
- Assist with Safety Committee meeting preparation, attendance records, meeting notes, and follow-up items.
- Help maintain Safety Data Sheets, first-aid records, PPE records, and safety-related supply information as assigned.
- Track completion of required safety training and provide reminders to employees and supervisors.
- Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, or incomplete records to the Human Resources Manager or appropriate managerGeneral Statement
