Job summary

Eckerd Connects in Denison, IA is seeking a Personnel Assistant to support HR functions and maintain confidential files. The role covers benefits processing, new hire paperwork, and employee relations tasks under SCA terms. This full-time position requires attention to detail and compliance with policies.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, HR-related experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass drug screening and background checks. A CDL not required.

Responsibilities

  • The Personnel Assistant performs clerical and administrative duties related to personnel, benefits, compensation, and employee relations.
  • Maintains HR files (confidential, personnel, medical, training, I-9, driver’s license, insurance).
  • Assists with new hires and terminations paperwork, including retirement reports.
  • Assists with advertising positions via Job Bid Program and external resources.
  • Assists with benefits enrollment and orientation for new employees.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Position

Hourly Rate: $18.50 - $20.50

Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Personnel Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties relating to personnel, benefits, compensation, and employee relations activities.
  • The Personnel Assistant maintains up-to-date and organized HR files, e.g., confidential, personnel, medical, training, I-9, driver's license, and insurance paperwork.
  • Assists with processing paperwork for new hires and terminations, including retirement report and forms when applicable.
  • Assists with advertising all open positions available on-center with Job Bid Program and off-center resources.
  • Assists with conducting benefits enrollment and orientation for new employees and informing new employees of available insurance benefits, procedures, etc.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) years' related experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
