Job Summary

A growing manufacturing organization in Fresno, CA is seeking an experienced Human Resource Director to lead HR strategy, compliance, employee relations, payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, safety, and HR operations. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a hands-on HR leader who enjoys partnering with executive leadership while also driving consistent, practical HR support across multiple locations.

The Human Resource Director will play a key role in aligning people strategies with business goals, strengthening HR processes, and supporting a positive employee experience. This role offers the opportunity to join a stable, team-oriented environment with supportive leadership, strong operational focus, and meaningful influence over workforce planning, compliance, reporting, and organizational development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and strategies that support business objectives and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Advise leadership, managers, and employees on employee relations matters, HR policies, performance issues, and best practices.
• Manage employee benefits, annual open enrollment, benefit orientations, semi-monthly payroll coordination, and related reporting requirements.
• Lead workforce planning, succession planning, organizational development, talent acquisition, and HR operations initiatives.
• Establish, monitor, and analyze HR KPIs, reporting, documentation, audits, risk assessments, and HRIS processes.
• Support safety, risk management, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts across the organization.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $80,000 to $115,000 per year.
• Job type: Direct hire, full-time.
• Work location: In person in Fresno, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Lead national or multi-site HR strategy, policy development, compliance, and HR operations.
• Manage payroll, benefits administration, open enrollment, reporting, HRIS processes, and employee documentation.
• Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, organizational development, and employee relations.
• Oversee HR metrics, audits, risk assessments, safety-related HR matters, and continuous process improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• 3-5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience required, including multi-site or national oversight.
• Strong knowledge of HR principles, employee relations, employment law, compliance, risk management, safety, and occupational hazard considerations.
• Experience administering employee benefits, talent acquisition, job classification, compensation analysis, payroll, and HR operations.
• Ability to interpret and apply county, state, and federal employment statutes, codes, and regulations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex HR topics clearly to employees and leaders at all levels.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with directors, regional leaders, branch managers, employees, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical judgment, confidentiality, integrity, organization, and independent decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple short-term and long-term priorities while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism.
• Comfortable using HR systems and willing to expand knowledge of software capabilities.
• Experience with PowerBI or other reporting tools is required or strongly desired based on role needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Experience improving HR reporting, dashboards, analytics, and HRIS capabilities preferred.
