Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services in Union City, CA is seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist for a full-time contract of about 3 months. You will manage the full employee lifecycle, ensure compliance with CA employment laws, and support recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, retention, and offboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to coordinate recruitment efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and preparing offer letters.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and employee orientation programs.
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, COBRA, and employee communications.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation, job descriptions, and personnel files.
  • Track and manage leaves of absence while ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with California employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and company policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations, performance management, workplace policies, and conflict resolution.
  • Support performance review processes and employee development initiatives.
  • Coordinate training and professional development programs.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims, safety programs, ergonomic assessments, and injury reporting.
  • Conduct exit interviews and assist with employee separation processes.
  • Communicate HR policies, procedures, and benefit updates throughout the organization.
  • Support special projects and additional HR initiatives as needed.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be a hands‑on HR professional with strong knowledge of California employment laws, employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, and compliance.
