Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment activities and processing of applications.
  • Coordinate onboarding, communicate start dates, verify pre-employment requirements.
  • Schedule drug tests, medicals, and other pre-employment requirements.
  • Enter and maintain employee information in HRIS.
  • Maintain confidential employee files and records.
  • Assist with interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Respond to employment verification requests.
  • Assist with background checks and registry compliance (Sex Offender Registry, Healthcare Registry, OIG, MVR, CANTS).
  • Answer calls and visitors; act as backup receptionist.
  • Support HR leadership with administrative projects and planning.
  • Attend meetings and participate in committees as directed.

We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to provide essential administrative support to the daily operations of our Human Resources Department. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate employee records, coordinating onboarding activities, supporting recruitment efforts, and assisting employees and supervisors with HR-related needs. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining confidentiality while supporting a positive and respectful workplace culture.

Human Resources Administrative Support Task Include:
  • Assist with recruitment activities and the processing of employment applications.
  • Coordinate and support the new employee onboarding process, including communicating start dates and verifying completion of pre-employment requirements.
  • Schedule and coordinate required drug testing, lift tests, physicals, and other pre-employment requirements for new hires.
  • Enter and maintain employee information in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Maintain accurate, current, and confidential employee files and records.
  • Assist employees and supervisors with the general interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Respond to employment verification requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist with background checks and required registry compliance, including Sex Offender Registry, Healthcare Registry, OIG, MVR, and CANTS.
  • Answer or direct incoming calls and visitors to the appropriate Human Resources team member.
  • Serve as a backup receptionist at the main front desk, as needed.
  • Support HR leadership with administrative projects, departmental planning, and other initiatives.

Compliance & Quality Service

  • Support and uphold the agency's mission, vision, values, and strategic plan.
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with individual choice, agency policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • As a mandated reporter, ensure allegations of abuse and neglect are reported as required.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all confidentiality requirements.
  • Complete required documentation accurately, honestly, and on time.
  • Complete all required training within120 days of initial employment and remain current with annual training requirements.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professional courtesy and ethical conduct when interacting with people served, employees, guardians, families, and external contacts.

Other Duties:

  • Attend meetings as directed.
  • Serve on committees or task forces as assigned.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.

*At least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent walking and sitting
