The City of Pasadena, TX is seeking a Housing Specialist to manage a caseload under the HUD Housing Choice Voucher program. You will handle initial placements, reexaminations, rent calculations, and file maintenance to ensure lease-up readiness and compliance.

You will interview applicants, issue vouchers, and coordinate with families, landlords, and inspectors while maintaining accurate data entry and reporting. A strong knowledge of HUD rules and bilingual English/Spanish are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Obtain or provide documentation of HUD certifications in eligibility, occupancy, rent calculation, and HQS inspection within one year of employment or when training is available.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• PREFERRED: Knowledge of the HUD rules and regulations relating to the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsabilités

• Maintain an assigned caseload including all files relating to family placement on HUD Housing Choice Voucher Program.
• Interview housing applicants from an established waiting list and issue vouchers for unit location and lease-up.
• Prepare and review monthly housing payroll to process rent payments and utility allowances.
• Handle daily contacts with participants and owners/landlords/managers for unit-related issues.
• Comply with City timekeeping and attendance policy; perform other duties as assigned by Housing Management.
