Austin Housing Authority is seeking a detail-oriented Voucher Specialist to ensure accurate processing of Housing Assistance Payments and HUD compliance. You will review vouchers, reconcile tenant data, and communicate with housing authorities to resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires strong data entry, excellent communication, and knowledge of HUD programs. AHA offers a hybrid work schedule, comprehensive benefits, and the chance to support thousands of Texas households.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide compassionate and professional customer service to clientele of diverse backgrounds.
• Strong computer skills (Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, and Laserfiche).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish, cultivate, and maintain effective working relationships with external partners, clients, and coworkers.
• Knowledge of standard bookkeeping principles, practices, and techniques.
• Knowledge of HUD programs, regulatory compliance, the affordable housing industry.
• Spanish language proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Voucher Review & Payment Processing: Review HAP vouchers from O/As for accuracy and compliance; resolve discrepancies before payments.
• Tenant Data Reconciliation: Cross-check tenant certification data with voucher line items; resolve inconsistencies with O/As.
• Customer Support & Communication: Serve as primary contact for O/As; provide clear, courteous support by phone and email.
