HUD Contract Specialist — Rent & Compliance

Job summary

The Tampa Housing Authority is seeking a Contract Specialist to manage IBPS and PBT tasks under the ACC, coordinating with HUD and NTHDC. You will process monthly HAP vouchers, renew contracts, adjust rents, and handle special claims with accuracy and adherence to policy.

Ideal candidates have a strong knowledge of HUD rules, solid data-entry skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, however significant and relevant experience may be considered.
• Five years’ experience performing similar tasks or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License
• Experience with HUD’s Project based Section 8 program or other housing programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs contractual IBPS and PBT tasks under the ACC.
• Reconcile and process monthly HAP vouchers.
• Adjust contract rents annually and renew HAP contracts.
• Process and pay special claims.
• Assist the MOR Specialist by providing desk review information for onsite management and occupancy reviews.
• Maintain electronic files and records retention in accordance with HUD and internal policy.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to monitor contract compliance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assist in the production of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Utilize HUD systems to ensure data integrity.
