Job summary

Southwest Housing Compliance Corporation (SHCC) seeks a detail‑oriented Contract Specialist to support owner/agent renewals, rent adjustments, and HUD compliance. You will ensure accurate processing, maintain documentation, and provide guidance to owners and HUD staff.

The role requires strong data entry skills, knowledge of HUD programs, and the ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech. A hybrid work schedule and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of college; bachelor’s preferred or equivalent experience
• Ability to provide compassionate, professional customer service to diverse clientele
• Strong computer skills across Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, Emphasys ELITE, and Laserfiche
• Knowledge of HUD programs, regulatory compliance, and the affordable housing industry
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication; writing test administered as part of interview

Responsibilities

• Review owner/agent renewal and rent adjustment submissions for completeness and accuracy
• Identify discrepancies and request additional information as needed
• Provide clear, well-supported recommendations based on HUD requirements
• Ensure processing aligns with HUD rules and guidance; stay updated on regulatory changes
• Maintain documentation to support compliance and audits
• Enter and maintain accurate data in SHCC and HUD systems; manage documents
• Handle portfolio management tasks and track deadlines; elevate issues as needed
