Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking an HSE Manager for federal projects in Manhattan, KS. You will lead site safety by developing and implementing an effective EHS plan, coordinating with project teams and subcontractors, and conducting audits and incident investigations to minimize risks and losses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
• CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction EHS field.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Some travel required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an effective site-specific EHS plan in cooperation with the Project Manager and regional programs.
• Coordinate subcontractor EHS protocols and plans, and manage coordination with owner personnel and vendors.
• Conduct quarterly on-site EHS audits; inspect equipment and processes for compliance with regulations and policies.
• Perform accident investigations and incident reporting for review by Project Management.
• Advise on Industrial Hygiene protocols; conduct environmental monitoring.
• Oversee the company's Drug-Free Workplace Policy and testing regimes.
• Provide EHS training and orientation for new hires and ongoing personnel.
• Administer the corporate SPAT process on assigned projects; provide weekly EHS updates to Leadership.
