Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive HSE experience driving organizational change.
• Industrial or manufacturing setting experience desired.
• Environmental compliance knowledge is a plus.
• Strong OSHA knowledge and regulatory familiarity.
• Excellent influencing skills across all levels.
• Proactive hazard identification to prevent incidents.
• Professional HSE certification is beneficial but not required.

Job description

We are seeking an HSE Manager to champion our pursuit of zero accidents while fostering a premier safety culture within our industry. Your role will involve balancing your schedule between our two Wisconsin locations—typically spending three days in Appleton and two in Neenah based on operational requirements—while also providing essential support to our field service crews throughout North America.

Core Responsibilities

• Track and communicate vital safety data, such as lowering incident rates, improving testing results, and enhancing overall operational risk management.
• Create and implement a behavior-focused HSE framework that supports our overarching company objectives.
• Ensure the entire organization remains in full alignment with both internal safety protocols and external regulatory requirements.
• Foster a culture of genuine safety ownership by mentoring and partnering with team members across all levels of the business.
• Perform thorough risk evaluations and hazard identification to help prevent accidents and implement effective root-cause solutions when issues arise.

Required Qualifications

• A degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or a similar discipline is preferred, though we will accept equivalent practical HSE experience.
• At least 5 years of advancing experience in HSE, demonstrating your ability to drive meaningful organizational change.
• Prior experience within an industrial or manufacturing setting is highly desirable.
• A working understanding of environmental compliance standards is considered an asset.
• Solid understanding of OSHA guidelines and other pertinent safety legislation.
• Exceptional ability to influence and connect with colleagues at every level of the company.
• A forward-thinking approach that helps identify and resolve potential hazards before they escape into incidents.
• Strong analytical capabilities to effectively detect and reduce operational risks.
• Possession of a professional HSE certification is beneficial but not mandatory.

Role Logistics and Compensation

• This is a permanent position that includes a comprehensive benefits package.
• Annual salary starting at $110,000.
• Primary work locations are split between Appleton, WI (3 days) and Neenah, WI (2 days).
• Requires infrequent travel to assist North American field service teams, estimated at less than 10% of your time.
