Job summary

Hydro in North America seeks an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to lead safety programs at our Oregon site. You will implement risk assessments, training, ISO 14001/45001, and OSHA compliance while promoting environmental responsibility. The HSE Manager reports to the Plant Manager.

Requirements include 5+ years in manufacturing HSE, a BA/BS in a related field, and strong communication and project management skills. Excellent benefits offered.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Safety and Health Management, Environmental Sciences or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of environmental programs and environmental management.
• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write reports and procedures.
• Effective project management skills, self-motivated, team oriented, timely, problem-solving skills, excellent record keeping and documentation skills.
• The ability to inspire, motivate and influence others and communicate complex technical information.
• Computer skills required in Microsoft Office.
• Must be highly motivated and comfortable working independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides strong HSE leadership at all levels. Ensures HSE standards are well integrated into all operational processes.
• Formulates safety policies and procedures to be followed by company and plant personnel in compliance with OSHA rules and regulations.
• Maintains ISO compliant programs for 14001 and 45001.
• Environmental recordkeeping and administration, including permits, conditions, sampling, and regulatory standards.
• Coordinates with regulators for reporting and onsite inspections.
• Develops and provides hands-on continuous safety training for all employees.
• Maintains safety records and incident management systems.
