Job summary

Matrix Adhesives seeks a Regional HSE Manager to develop and implement Health, Safety and Environmental programs for sites across North America, including North Carolina, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee. You will ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

You will lead incident investigations, train site coordinators, perform audits, manage waste handling, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance while traveling up to 30%.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of HSE experience in manufacturing/industrial environment.
• PSM/RMP experience strongly preferred.
• OSHA 30 General Industry preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support OSHA and regulatory requirements across sites.
• Lead incident/injury investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Educate and train site HSE coordinators and teams on safety practices.
• Perform health, safety and environmental inspections, assessments and audits.
• Coordinate non-routine activities with potential safety/environmental impact.
• Develop project plans based on HSE goals and objectives.
• Partner with site teams to recognize hazards and prevent injuries.
• Develop and conduct training on safety topics (e.g., LOTO, machine guarding, chemical hygiene).
• Administer HSE programs driving participation, data entry, and reporting.
• Maintain records for safety training and inspections.
• Assist associates, supervisors, and contractors on HSE matters.
• Manage safety shoe and prescriptive eyewear programs.
• Coordinate hazardous waste shipments and disposal.
• Travel up to 30%.

About the Role

The Regional HSE Manager will develop and implement Health, Safety and Environmental programs, procedures, associated training, and guidance documents for multiple sites within our North American footprint. Primary responsibility includes sites in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, healthy, and safety regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Support achievement and implementation of OSHA and other regulatory agency requirements.
• Direct/Lead incident/injury investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
• Educate and train site HSE coordinators and project team members in safety requirements and best practices in incident prevention.
• Perform health, safety and environmental inspections, assessments, and audits.
• Coordinate, review, and monitor non-routine work activities that have the potential to adversely impact operations, the environment, or health & safety.
• Develops project plans and timelines based on strategic HSE goals and objectives.
• Partner with site HSE coordinators and departments to recognize hazards and prevent injuries.
• Develop and conduct training including but not limited to new hire orientation, compliance, forklift, scissor lift, LOTO, Machine guarding, chemical hygiene, etc.
• Administer HSE programs driving participation, data entry, evaluation, and reporting.
• Maintain required records for safety training, safety inspections, and other HSE tasks.
• Answer questions and assist associates, supervisors, and contractors on HSE related matters.
• Manage safety shoe and prescriptive eyewear programs.
• Coordinate hazardous waste shipments and ensure disposal of hazardous waste in appropriate waste containers and transport to central accumulation areas.
• Travel up to 30%

Education and Experience Requirements

• 7-10 years of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) experience and/or chemical safety in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Chemistry, or Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• PSM/RMP experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.
• Experience conducting incident evaluations to identify root cause and corrective actions.
• OSHA 30 General Industry strongly preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups.
