Job summary

Canam Steel Corporation in Washington, MO is seeking a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) professional to manage and embed HSE programs across the organization. You will lead risk assessments, inspections, incident management, training, and compliance with federal/state/local regulations, while supporting continuous process improvement from an HSE perspective.

The role requires effective communication with all levels, OSHA 30 certification preferred, and a minimum of 2 years in manufacturing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in related health and safety field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience in manufacturing and OSHA 30 certification preferred or 2 years in non-manufacturing with OSHA 30 within 6 months of employment.
• Thorough knowledge of safety principles and related Occupational Health and Safety legal requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization and to teach others.
• Computer skills, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Manage HSE programs including risk assessment, workplace inspections, incident management, and emergency response.
• Develop and implement safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local regulations and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
• Identify training needs and develop risk-specific training.
• Support supervisors in implementing HSE programs and continuous improvement.
• Measure HSE performance and report to the Tactical Committee and Corporate Team.
