Job summary

Havco® Wood Products in Scott City, Missouri is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead and continuously improve our safety and environmental programs within a manufacturing setting. You will own OSHA/compliance efforts, manage permits and reporting, conduct investigations, run safety inspections, and collaborate with plant leadership to foster a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with environmental permitting, compliance inspections, reporting, and corrective actions.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with employees at all levels.
• High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead facility safety and environmental compliance programs.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable environmental regulations.
• Manage environmental permits, reporting, inspections, and compliance documentation.
• Lead accident, incident, and environmental investigations and develop corrective actions.
• Conduct safety inspections, hazard assessments, and required training.
• Lead the plant Safety Team and partner with managers and employees to strengthen our safety culture.
• Oversee programs related to air emissions, stormwater, waste management, chemical safety, PPE, LOTO, HAZCOM, and industrial hygiene.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and help reduce workplace risk.
