Job summary

The New York Times Company in Norfolk, VA is seeking an HRIS Analyst II to optimize and support Workday Performance, Core HCM, and related areas. You will configure, troubleshoot, analyze data, test, and deliver mid-level reports in collaboration with senior HRIS analysts and the HR operations team.

This hybrid role requires 2+ days/week in the Norfolk office, with opportunities to contribute to global performance cycles and security policy design.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an HRIS Analyst or functional HR systems role.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Workday Performance Management.
  • Demonstrated experience writing and generating custom Workday reports.
  • Experience maintaining Workday business processes, security protocols, and system release updates.
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables).

Responsibilities

  • Be a primary technical contact for the Workday Performance module, while providing functional support for Core HCM, Compensation, Payroll, and Time/Absence domains.
  • Accomplish end-to-end system configuration to support global performance evaluation cycles.
  • Be a primary contact for performance workflow design and resolution of technical issues.
  • Deliver technical and user support for Workday, handling questions, troubleshooting, and resolving issues across supported modules.
  • Execute assigned production support tickets and project tasks with high accuracy and within target deadlines.
  • Maintain HCM production support processes, encompassing monitoring, detailed analysis, and issue resolution.
