Job summary

The New York Times Company is seeking an HRIS Analyst II to optimize Workday Benefits and related modules, provide data-driven HR insights, and support system configurations. You will collaborate with senior analysts and partners to deliver HR technology solutions in a hybrid role based in Norfolk, VA.

You will configure, test, and maintain Workday processes, reports, and security, while leading enhancements and ensuring data integrity. Strong Workday experience required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in an HRIS Analyst role or comparable HR systems position
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience using Workday
  • Professional experience in HR, Payroll, and Benefits operations
  • Experience with Workday report writing and generation
  • Background in maintaining Workday business processes, security, and releases
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas

Responsibilities

  • Be subject matter expert for the Workday Benefits module and related areas
  • Lead Workday configuration for Benefits Annual Enrollment
  • Primary contact for benefits-related vendor integrations and issues
  • Deliver technical and user support for Workday across modules
  • Execute production support tickets and project tasks with accuracy
  • Maintain HCM production support processes and issue resolution
  • Define, refine, and maintain business process configurations
  • Configure and oversee mass actions and system alerts
  • Participate in Workday feature update cycles
  • Collaborate with Security team on policies
  • Design and deploy Workday solutions to meet requirements
  • Test and implement new feature enhancements and cross-functional impacts
  • Audit data and reports to preserve integrity
  • Review data entry practices to strengthen governance
  • Provide HRIS maintenance and module troubleshooting
  • Partner with senior analysts to share knowledge
  • Engage with HR partners on new module functionality
  • Communicate technical insights to non-technical partners
  • Support Journalistic independence and NYT mission
