Job summary

Averro seeks an HR Generalist – Labor Relations to support both union and non-union environments in Seattle. The role handles HRIS transactions, leaves management, and partnering with leaders to address employee relations and performance issues.

The position requires 5+ years in HR with 3+ years in labor relations, Dayforce and ADP experience, and strong communication. Benefits include medical, 401K, sick leave, and EAP; work is onsite in Seattle under contract-to-hire terms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HR experience with 3+ years in strategic labor relations across union and non-union environments.
• Dayforce and ADP experience required; knowledge of ADA, ADEA, EEO/AA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA.
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process HRIS change transactions (pay changes, transfers, retirements, terminations).
• Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, workers' comp, company leaves) including eligibility, approvals, payroll data entry.
• Coach managers and employees on employee relations and performance issues; support grievances.
• Develop and deliver management/employee training; update HR policies, forms, and processes for compliance.
• Support implementation and testing of HRIS, timekeeping, leave, and applicant tracking systems.

Location: Seattle, WA – Onsite

Pay Rate: $45–$55/hr

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Role & Responsibilities

• Process HRIS change transactions (pay changes, transfers, retirements, terminations) in line with company guidelines
• Administer leaves of absence (FMLA, workers' compensation, company leaves), including eligibility, approvals, and payroll data entry
• Partner with HR leadership to coach managers and employees and support employee relations, grievances, and performance issues
• Develop and deliver management/employee training; update HR policies, forms, and processes to ensure compliance
• Support implementation and testing of HRIS, timekeeping, leave, and applicant tracking systems

Essential Qualifications

• 5+ years of Human Resources experience, including 3+ years of strategic HR leadership in labor relations across union and non-union environments
• Dayforce and ADP experience required; working knowledge of ADA, ADEA, EEO/Affirmative Action, FMLA, FLSA, and OSHA
• Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills with high attention to detail

• Experience in the shipping, logistics, or transportation industry
