Job summary

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner is seeking a Human Resources Representative for Workforce Operations in New York City. This temporary appointment will last up to one year and requires a valid New York State Driver’s License.

You will assist in recruitment, onboarding, tracking, and professional development across OCME and DOHMH interfaces. Responsibilities include maintaining HR metrics, coordinating job postings, reviewing candidate qualifications, preparing offers, and supporting multiple

Qualifications

  • Associate degree with secretarial/office tech credits required.
  • One year of full-time professional general secretarial experience or six months legal secretarial experience if using a degree.
  • High school diploma plus two years of general secretarial experience or one year of legal secretarial experience.
  • Equivalency options accepted with specific training or credits, but a high school diploma is required.

Responsibilities

  • Compile, maintain, and report HR metrics (headcount, attrition, vacancies).
  • Develop and submit job postings in EHIRE; screen and forward qualified resumes.
  • Coordinate pre-employment documents and onboarding milestones.
  • Schedule interviews; coordinate start dates with hiring managers.
  • Assist with pre-employment medical processing and civil service list actions.

Associate degree with secretarial/office tech credits
