Job summary

NDOT in Carson City, NV is seeking a skilled Human Resources Technician 2 to support HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and payroll. This on-site role requires a consistent 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday schedule and is not eligible for remote work. The incumbent will handle HR records, policy guidance, and compliance activities in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and one year of technical personnel/payroll experience; or one year as HR Technician I in Nevada State service; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of HR policies, procedures and applicable state/federal employment laws.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage HR records and payroll data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment and onboarding processes for new hires.
• Respond to employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies.
• Process HR/payroll transactions and maintain HR records.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and internal policies.
• Coordinate with workers’ compensation, FMLA, and related HR programs.
