Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is seeking a Product Owner for our Boston-based Enterprise Business Solutions team, focusing on HR technology modernization and moving to a cloud-based Workday HCM platform. The role involves partnering with HR leaders, Technology, and implementation partners to translate business needs into prioritized delivery, requirements, and testing plans.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in HR Technology, HRIS, HCM, HR transformation, or related enterprise tech roles.
• Strong HR tech knowledge, including employee lifecycle data, compliance, reporting, and operational impact.
• Workday HCM experience strongly preferred; exposure to SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or UKG also considered.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to understand standard HCM capabilities and minimize unnecessary customization.
• Experience with UAT, defect triage, validation, and release readiness.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum/Kanban or hybrid delivery environments with backlog management.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog for HR technology initiatives with prioritized value.
• Document current and future-state processes with HR leaders to simplify work using standard HCM capabilities.
• Translate business needs into user stories, requirements, data, reporting, and testing needs.
• Support HR platform implementation with configuration review, reporting, and data migration.
• Coordinate UAT, test strategy, defect tracking, and business sign-off.
• Ensure release readiness and training coordination for HR initiatives.
• Champion agile delivery across initiatives to deliver business value.
