Job summary

NC State University seeks an Human Resources Specialist to act as the first point of contact for HR actions within the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost. You will provide guidance on recruitment, onboarding, time and leave management, and employee relations, aligning with university policies and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of training and experience.
• Experience applying university HR policies, onboarding, time/leave tracking, and compensation practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with students, faculty, and administrators.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for HR actions and guidance within the Provost’s Office.
• Provide HR advisement and consultation to support office goals and strategic direction.
• Interpret and communicate HR policies and best practices, ensuring compliance.
• Collaborate with HR Manager and campus partners on workforce planning and policy development.
• Represent the Provost Office HR team on university committees and meetings.
