Job summary

North Carolina State University seeks an HR Specialist to serve as the first point of contact for HR actions within the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost. You will provide advisement across recruitment, onboarding, time/leave, employee relations, and compensation, applying university policies and best practices.

You will build relationships with employees, managers, and HR partners to deliver training, tools, and resources that support workforce planning and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience with PeopleSoft and PeopleAdmin.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
• Knowledge of core HR functions and policies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as HR advisor for recruitment, onboarding, time and leave management, and compensation processes.
• Develop collaborative relationships with units, HR partners, and campus stakeholders to provide guidance and resources.
• Interpret HR policies and adapt processes to changing needs while ensuring compliance.
• Provide backup HR support to units reporting to the Provost’s Office and maintain consistent HR operations.
