Job summary

North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine seeks an HR Business Specialist to partner with department leadership, manage HR workflows, and advise on policies and compliance for faculty and staff.

You will handle onboarding, academic personnel processes, recruitment, and compensation reviews, while ensuring data integrity and timely service delivery within a busy university setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to work effectively with administration, faculty, and staff at all levels.
• Core knowledge in recruitment, employee relations, organizational development, international employment, and residency coordination.
• Ability to partner with hiring managers to fill open positions with the best qualified candidate.
• Problem-solving, attention to detail, priority management, and deadline execution in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary HR representative for assigned CVM departments, diagnosing organizational needs and managing end-to-end HR workflows.
• Delivers high-quality customer service across HR functional areas and ensures timely personnel actions.
• Supports onboarding programs and academic personnel processes, including appointments, updates, and RPT coordination.
• Assists with classification and compensation reviews, providing guidance to leadership and coordinating with HR Operations.
