Qualifications

• 1–4 years in HR, HR admin, or a related role.
• Working knowledge of FMLA, FLSA, EEO, and ADA.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• PHR/SHRM-CP certification or progress toward one preferred.
• Familiarity with South Carolina employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions on benefits, policies, payroll, leave, and workplace concerns.
• Coordinate recruiting activity: post openings, screen applicants, schedule interviews, and support hiring managers.
• Run onboarding and offboarding, including new-hire paperwork, orientation, and exit processes.
• Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS, and audit files for completeness and compliance.
• Administer benefits enrollment, leaves of absence, and workers' compensation documentation.
• Support payroll by verifying hours, changes, and deductions before each pay cycle.
• Help apply federal, state, and local employment laws and company policy consistently.
• Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, and documentation with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Support engagement, training, and performance review programs.
• Prepare HR reports and metrics, such as headcount, turnover, and open requisitions.
