Godshall Recruiting in Charleston, SC is seeking an experienced HR professional to own payroll, onboarding, and leave administration. You will serve as the go-to HR resource for employees and managers, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely responsiveness in a growing organization.

The role emphasizes hands-on payroll for ~650 employees using UKG, with strong focus on policy adherence and data integrity. Direct Hire, on-site position with competitive benefits and PTO.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist or similar hands-on role.
• Experience processing payroll for a mid-sized or large employee population.
• UKG experience strongly preferred, particularly payroll and data management.
• Experience with onboarding, offboarding, and leave administration.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential and time-sensitive information accurately.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-through skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage bi-weekly payroll for approximately 650 employees while ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, ensuring employees have a smooth and professional transition experience.
• Administer employee leave processes, maintain documentation, and assist employees with leave-related questions and requirements.
• Maintain employee records and HRIS data, utilizing UKG and other systems to ensure information remains accurate and up to date.
• Serve as a trusted resource for employee questions related to payroll, HR policies, and employment-related processes.
• Partner with the HR Manager to support daily HR operations and deliver exceptional service across the organization.

Requirements

To be a champion in this role, you will need:

• 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Generalist or similar hands‑on HR role
• Experience processing payroll for a mid‑sized or large employee population
• UKG experience strongly preferred, particularly related to payroll and employee data management
• Experience with employee onboarding, offboarding, and leave administration
