Job summary

Rio Rancho Public Schools is seeking a Human Resources Specialist – Tier 3 for the Central Services HR team in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. This is a 240-day, short-term contract year for 2026-2027 with a starting date of immediately.

The role requires handling confidential information, coordinating onboarding, compensation, and leave processes, and preparing reports for the supervising Director. You will support the HR staff while maintaining professional relationships and complying with all

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; and 3-5 years related experience.
• Experience onboarding, compensation, and/or leave (preferred).
• Associates degree or two years of college-level classes (preferred).
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Google or related software (preferred).
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Has constant access to confidential information and works with administration on management policies, therefore must respect and safeguard sensitive, confidential or privileged information.
• Prepare reports utilizing various software programs for the supervising Director/Executive Director.
• Comply with administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state, and federal regulations.
• Meet deadlines and work on multiple projects.
• Maintain professional relationships and work cooperatively with employees, school and District administrators, the community, and other professionals.
