Job summary

Gold Star FS, Inc. in Cambridge, IL, is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to provide administrative support across benefits, payroll, and compliance. The role focuses on payroll processing, benefits enrollment, employee data, and regulatory adherence.

The position requires a 2-year degree in Business or related field and at least 3 years of payroll/benefits experience, with strong organizational and communication skills. Travel may be required, and a valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a 2-year degree in Business, Accounting or related field with 3 years of benefits/payroll experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and travel overnight.
• Proficiency in payroll processing, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversees preparation and processing of employment documents for accuracy.
• Compiles payroll data and ensures timely payroll processing.
• Implements payroll functions during raises, bonuses, PTO, and profit sharing.
• Coordinates employee recruiting, job fairs, pipelines, onboarding.
• Manages employee files and posts to necessary systems.
• Ensures proper taxes, insurance, and deductions are posted to payroll records.
• Drives the ePAF process for employee changes.
• Maintains PTO, FMLA, and leave records; assists with policies.
• Develops HR goals and assists in annual benefits enrollment.
• Attends training on regulatory issues regarding payroll and benefits.
