Job summary

FS is a respected agricultural and energy products cooperative known for its commitment to communities and the environment. The Human Resources Specialist provides administrative support across benefits, payroll, compensation, and compliance, reporting to the General Manager.

You will coordinate employment documents, payroll data, and benefits enrollment to ensure accurate, timely operations. The position requires a 2-year degree and at least 3 years of payroll and benefits experience, with

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in Business, Accounting or related field and a minimum of 3 years experience in benefits and payroll
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
• Must be able to work extended hours as business conditions warrant
• Must be able to travel independently and overnight.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates preparation and processing of employment documents for accuracy.
• Compiles payroll data from time sheets and records to ensure accurate payroll; assists monthly reconciliations.
• Implements payroll functions for annual raises, bonuses, PTO payouts, and profit sharing.
• Calculates monthly insurance premiums and reconciles premium payments to ensure accurate billing.
• Coordinates recruiting efforts including job fairs, candidate pipelines, onboarding support.
• Coordinates benefit enrollment with new hires and uploads data to vendors for coverage.
• Manages employee files by scanning, uploading, and distributing documents in ImageNow.
• Ensures taxes, insurance, and deductions are withheld and posted to payroll records.
• Records changes affecting net wages and updates payroll master records.
• Drives ePAF process for employee changes and terminations.
• Maintains records of PTO, FMLA, and other time off; assists employees with policies.
• Manages employee clothing program.
• Develops HR goals and updates company business plan.
• Assists in annual benefit enrollment and performance management.
• Attends regulatory training for payroll and benefits.
