Job summary

Avantor is seeking an HR Solutions Partner, DACH based in Darmstadt to advise managers and employees on employee relations, employment law, and people-related matters across the region. You will partner with managers and works councils, ensuring compliance with BetrVG and local policies while supporting HR programs such as performance management, compensation, and engagement.

As the local Workday champion, you will promote HR systems, use data to identify trends, and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of HR advisory/employee relations experience.
• Strong knowledge of German employment law and works councils.
• Experience partnering with works councils and managing consultations.
• Proficient in Workday and case management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Fluent German and strong English; French is a plus.

Based in Darmstadt, you'll serve as a trusted HR advisor, providing guidance on employee relations, employment law, works council matters, and key HR initiatives. Supported by our HR Shared Services team for transactional activities, you'll focus on delivering practical, value-added HR solutions that help the business succeed.

This is an individual contributor role suited to an experienced HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, multi-country environment and can confidently manage sensitive matters with sound judgment.

Your tasks

• Partner with managers and employees on employee relations, employment law, and people-related matters across the DACH region.

Your profile

• 5-10 years of HR experience in an HR advisory, employee relations, or HR generalist role.
• Strong knowledge of German employment law, including works council regulations (BetrVG) and collective agreements, with exposure to Switzerland.
• Experience partnering with works councils and managing consultation processes.
• Proficiency in Workday and experience working within a case management or ticketing environment (e.g., ServiceNow).
• Fluent German and strong English communication skills; French is an advantage.
• Confidence advising managers on complex people matters and handling sensitive issues with sound judgment.
• Experience working in a matrixed, multinational environment and collaborating across HR functions.
• Exposure to HR transformation, process improvement, or change initiatives is a plus.
