Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking an HR Manager I to provide strategic and operational leadership for a team that delivers high-quality HR services across UCSF campuses and health units. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience/training.
• 8+ years HR-related experience.
• 5+ years demonstrated strong management skills including collaboration, coaching and developing subordinates.
• Ability to interpret staff personnel policies to support leadership and advise on actions to meet goals.
• Direct knowledge of HR management information systems used in universities.
• Strong communication skills with diverse styles; may present orally or in writing.
• Experience making hiring and development decisions; build relationships internally and externally.
• Demonstrated ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
• Experience leading employee/manager pre-boarding, onboarding, and service improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for a team delivering HR services across UCSF.
• Partner with campus and health leaders to ensure compliant, customer-focused service delivery.
• Lead pre-boarding experience standards and improvements across UCSF Campus and UCSF Health.
• Oversee HR generalists and shared services responsibilities; improve timeliness and experience.
• Cultivate a high-performing, inclusive team culture aligned with UCSF PRIDE values.
