Job summary

Southland Industries, Inc. is seeking an HR Coordinator to support HR Shared Services in talent management, engagement, and operations. You will manage onboarding, Workday tasks, and background checks while maintaining confidential employee records and preparing HR reports.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration, processing verifications, and assisting with inquiries, while contributing to company culture and employee satisfaction in a people-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school degree preferred; bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3-4 years HR Coordinator/HR Administrative experience
• Experience with HCM systems (Workday) and onboarding
• Experience processing background checks and drug screens
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality
• Good communication and organization skills
• Proficiency with technology and HR tools

Responsibilities

• Support onboarding tasks including pre-employment, offer letters, and system profile set up tasks
• Review new hire paperwork for completeness and accuracy
• Complete employment verifications
• Process background checks and drug screens
• E-Verify new hire employment eligibility
• Maintain employee information tracking and filing
• Maintain confidential employee files
• Prepare related statistical reports
• Assist HR personnel with clerical needs
• Handle HR benefit inquiries and escalate as needed
• Track benefit status and payroll deductions where applicable
• Respond to unemployment claims
• Perform additional assignments as needed
