Job summary

The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod is seeking an HR Coordinator to support the employee lifecycle from recruitment through onboarding and ongoing HR operations. This role emphasizes accuracy, data integrity, and proactive process improvement in a fast-paced environment at our Hyannis, MA location.

You’ll partner with the HR team to administer benefits, payroll, and HRIS, while ensuring compliance with employment laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field preferred; or associate’s degree with relevant experience.
• 1-3 years HR experience in an administrative or coordinator role.
• Experience with integrated HR systems, reporting, and data accuracy; Paylocity preferred.
• Working knowledge of HR operations, employment laws, and compliance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel capabilities and AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities

• Guides employees on HR programs, policies, and procedures, escalating complex matters as needed.
• Serves as HRIS administrator; manages configuration, access, workflows, and data integrity.
• Provides day-to-day technical support and analyzes HR reports to aid decision-making.
• Prepares and submits biweekly payrolls in coordination with the HR team.
• Completes post-payroll reporting and reconciliations; resolves discrepancies.
• Supports recruitment from posting to interview coordination.
• Owns onboarding/pre-boarding activities and ensures required documents and access.
• Serves as a point of contact for onboarding questions and orientation activities.
• Coordinates internal training programs and LMS administration.
• Manages employee benefits enrollments, changes, and open enrollment.
• Assists with leave administration and compliance with state/federal requirements.
• Supports wellness programs and monitors participation metrics.
• Partners to coordinate annual internship programs and employee engagement initiatives.
• Publishes HR communications on intranet; manages vendor administration.
• Maintains employment postings and HR records; supports regulatory reporting.
• Gathers information for HR audits; supports workers’ compensation processes.
• Identifies efficiencies through automation and workflow improvements while ensuring confidentiality.
