Job summary

Astera Labs is seeking an HR Operations Intern in San Jose, CA. You will support the HR Operations team across employee and business processes and collaborate with HR leaders, HR business partners, Talent Acquisition, and cross-functional teams.

This paid internship focuses on learning HR operations, improving follow-through, and delivering meaningful project work that enhances efficiency and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Own operational follow-through: Track assigned requests, action items, and SLAs from intake through completion.
• Support HR service delivery: Route HR questions to the appropriate contact and escalate blockers when needed.
• Work with HR systems and tools: Learn and use HR systems, reporting tools, and ticketing workflows.
• Maintain accurate information: Support recordkeeping, data checks, and documentation updates.
• Build operational visibility: Prepare reports, status updates, and simple metrics.
• Improve processes: Identify recurring issues and propose practical improvements.
• Partner across HR: Collaborate with HR leaders, HR business partners, Talent Acquisition and cross-functional teams.
• Communicate clearly: Provide timely updates and document decisions.
• Deliver a meaningful project: Own a scoped project or workstream producing a usable asset.
